Buckle Up Every Time 2

Last modified: July 21, 2006 - 11:04 AM

This project follows the success of the program with the same name conducted in 2003. Again the major strategy of this seat belt safety education project was to increase the seat belt wearing rate by 5% or reach 98%.

A range of strategies were implemented during the project. These included; regular seat belt observational surveys, media advertising of the results and media coverage, street banners and thermometre banners, the installation of more buckle up car park exit signs, distribution of gate signs, a lifesavers giveaway at the Condo 750 and McDonald's drivethru's Parkes and Forbes, a radio promotion and police enforcement. The final wearing rate was exactly 98%. An overview of the strategies and results of this project are included in the final report which is available to download at the bottom of this page.
