Last modified: July 19, 2006 - 3:01 PM

Over the Christmas/New Year and Easter holiday periods in 2004/2005 a driver fatigue education program targeting Newell Highway travellers was conducted.

The program was a joint project of 11 Councils along the NSW section of the Newell Highway. These include; Coolamon, Warrumbungles, Forbes, Gilgandra, Jerilderie, Moree Plains, Narrandera, Narromine, Parkes and Urana Shire Councils. The strategies included; a launch with special guest Dr Karl Kruszelnicki, the distribution of driver fatigue information packs, banners along the Newell, a survey/competition, RTA advertising, media coverage and advertising and more. The strategies and results are outlined in the final report which is available to download at the bottom of this page.
