Getting a break whilst travelling is Road Safety and Injury Prevention Officer, Melanie Suitor

STOP. REVIVE. SURVIVE.

Last modified: July 19, 2006 - 9:19 AM

During the Christmas/New Year and Easter holiday periods 2003/2004, the Road Safety and Injury Prevention Officer implemented a fatigue program to help locals be better prepared for roadtrips.

STOP. REVIVE. SURVIVE. was a local fatigue program that aimed to involve the community, raise awareness of the dangers and consequences of fatigue and increase awareness of the need to plan trips and take breaks. Project strategies included; distributing fatigue information to local schools before they broke up for Christmas, displays in the Council's foyers, a survey, media and advertising campaign, the development and distribution of fatigue information packs, the development and distribution of children's activity books, involvement at Senior's Week in Condobolin, radio promotion and RTA advertising. The results of the program are included in the final report which is available to download at the bottom of this page.
