The Thanks Dad Photo Competition celebrates the wonderful things men do with their children, and hopes to encourage more men to spend more positive time with their children. The Photo Competition not only thanks the Dads but also the really important grandfathers, uncles, step dads, foster dads and older brothers who mean so much to so many children . Every year the photographs travel as part of the Thanks Dad People's Choice Exhibition across the whole of Australia and will be at Parkes Library from the 3 to 28 August 2009. While Parkes Library is hosting the People's Choice Exhibition from Thanks Dad National Photographic Competition, they are also inviting you to bring in and enter your photo of your husband/ dad/ uncle/ grandfather/ stepdad/ sports coach, or other significant man in your children's lives, spending time with them. There is one prize for adults and another for students aged 17 and under. Photos are judged not on technical quality but on how you capture the moment. Simply bring in your photo (mounted on black cardboard) and complete an entry form. Entries in the Parkes local competition close on 27 July. All local entries will be entered into the 2009 National Competition so you have a second chance to win! For more information please call Parkes Library on 6861 2309.
