Do pensioners receive a concession in relation to their rates?
Yes, if the pensioner is eligible. To be eligible they must be a holder of a Pensioner Concession Card from either the Department of Social Security or Veterans Affairs, must be solely or jointly responsible for the rates and must occupy the dwelling as their sole or principle place of living. If a pensioner is jointly responsible, the concession available will be dependent on the percentage of ownership held.
