Street Stalls

Last modified: March 19, 2010 - 6:29 PM

In October/November of each year Council calls for applications from interested organisations for Street Stalls for the following year. Organisations will only be allocated 1 date every year as there are so many applications. Stalls are to be held out the front of the former Target Country store. Council's policy also only allows for 1 stall per week to be held.

To find out about the conditions of holding a street stall click on the street stalls heading.

Please note that the date/s is for One Year Only and that it will be necessary for you to apply again in writing at the end of each year for the allocation of a Street Stall date for the following year.

Except in special circumstances, it is Council's policy to permit only one Street Stall per week.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS to apply to the issue of Permits:

  1. That the requirements of the Police Department be observed.
  2. That the person to whom the Permit is issued will provide Council with at least 14 days' notice if his or her organisation decides to cancel a date allocated.
  3. The table or stools shall not exceed 2.4 metres (8 feet) in length and any displays in adjacent shop windows should not be seriously affected by the Street Stall itself. Street Stall holders are requested to bear this in mind as the positioning of Street Stalls is dependent upon the concurrence of the adjoining shop owner/occupiers.
  4. That if any of the dates allocated are required for State Wide Appeals for patriotic or charitable organisations, the permit granted for these dates will be allocated for State Wide Appeals and other dates will be given to compensate the local organisations.
