2006-2007 Management Plan

Last modified: May 22, 2008 - 10:04 AM

Parkes Shire Council has adopted a Management Plan with respect to its activities for the 3 years from 1 July, 2006, and its Revenue Policy for the next financial year.

The Plan includes details of:

  • Council’s principal activities, strategic objectives, performance targets, statement of means and performance measures for 2006/07 – 2008/09; and
  • The estimates of Council’s income and expenditure, rating structure and proposed fees and charges for 2006/2007 based on a proposed 3.6% increase in General Fund Rates.

The estimates include a charge of $25.00 ($12.50 for strata lots) for residential and commercial properties in the towns and villages throughout the shire for stormwater management which is outside the rate pegging legislation.

The water availability charge will remain unchanged. However, it is proposed to increase the cost of water by 5c per KL for water consumption under 365KL and 10c for water used above 365KL.

It is proposed to increase the residential access charge for sewerage from $230.00 to $250.00 and proceed to stage 2  of a 3 stage introduction for trade waste in line with Best Practice Pricing as prescribed by the State Government.

The proposed increase for garbage services is from $160.00 to $180.00 (includes recycling) for 2006/07.

Maps which show those parts of its area to which each category and sub-category of the ordinary rate and each special rate included in the draft management plan will be on display at Council’s Administration Centre, 2 Cecile Street, Parkes or are available for download below.
